What is success?

Hello. My name is Lu. Yes. Short and simple. I have a hunger for knowledge and a fear of failure. Everyone has a different definition of the word "failure" but this blog is to serve those who are interested in learning more about the opposite of failure - SUCCESS. Again, there are different definitions for "success." I will post a variety of information to quench your thirst for knowledge and possibly inspire you to succeed. In the words of Zac Brown - Adios and vaya con Dios...til next time.

I met someone about 13 days ago and he sent me this video. I finally had time to sit down and really listen to The Power of Vulnerability. Thank you for sharing and I hope it brings others some insights.

The People We Meet

Someone recently told me that love is finite. With all do respect to this person who I love and admire, I STILL believe that love can be infinite. I have met the most wonderful people who have shown me how beautiful human beings can be. How can a person who has only known you for two days feel that it is their duty to protect you and see that you eat every half hour? How can someone literally Down Under check on you every month to make sure you are ok? How can someone who you have never met share intimate stories about their lives and console you in your darkest hour? And the list goes on.

Today’s blog is for those who always ask me how do I stay so positive. Here is my secret…People. This is my biggest strength and weakness. Unfortunately, I cannot be around toxic energy because it cuts me like a knife but at the same time I can be on cloud 9 with the most positive, interesting people in the world. Not everything in life is perfect but Life is about choices. I choose to be happy. Therefore, I surround myself with people who bring out the best in me.

Of course, there are hard days but you choose your attitude. This applies to professional and personal environments. Sometimes you just have to turn it all off.

Someone who I respect and who I would follow anywhere in my professional career took out a piece of paper and wrote down, “BALANCE!” and put it on my desk. I would have to say that my biggest challenge since being in remission is finding my balance. Unfortunately, I haven’t figured that one out yet but I am working on it. After a year, I am finally taking a vacation, yes, I am turning off all my cell phones. ;P

Life

Life

Today’s inspiration came from my manager:

CHARLIE MIKE

There will be times in life when you

Feel that you’re overwhelmed

You’ve suffered too much loss and feel

The wheel cannot be helmed

It starts to rain and won’t ease up

It just proceeds to pour

It’s in those times you should recall

The words of our brave Corps

“Charlie Mike” is what troops say

When plans all go to shit

They do not abort their mission

Instead, they deal with it

“Charlie Mike” from the NATO
Phonetic Alphabet

The letters “C” and “M” declare

It isn’t over yet

It means “CONTINUE MISSION”

And it has carried me through

Times of loss and sorrow when
I knew not what to do

When I could not devise a plan

In face of all the strife
“Charlie Mike’s” the one plan that

Helped me go on with life

When your mind is elsewhere and

You’re too focused on grief
“Charlie Mike” will move your legs

And help turn a new leaf

Regardless of your losses

Even if they’re catastrophic

Keep it simple instead of
 Being so philosophic

Take note from our warriors

Adorned in camouflage

“Charlie Mike” no matter how
 Persistent the barrage
